Austin Restaurant Week!

September 18, 2009

Wow, this is one fantastic city. We have festivals and food abound and we are so awesomely lucky to have the Austin Restaurant Week (Sept 13-16 and 20-23): A Bi-annual event where the top restaurants around town offer 3 course meals for… wait what was that? $50-$100? Nope. $25 or $35. There is still a murmur around about the Driskill from last year. The event is only a year old and participants are up 38% from last spring. It was started to support local restaurants by introducing future customers to traditional favorites and new items as well. And, if you wanted to feel a little better about yourself, 5% of all profits go to two local charities, Aids Services of Austin and Sustainable Food Center. Reservations are recommended since these places quickly fill up.

The Austin Restaurant Week site has everything from searches by both neighborhood and cuisine to a printable map and faq’s.¬† Also, each restaurant has a printable “ARW” menu. They also have a link to their facebook page where you can make reservations. Pretty darn cool if you ask me. So, of course you are all dying to know where I’d go if I had infinite nights and funds? (I assume you’re not, but I’ll fill you in anyway!)

Annie’s Cafe and Bar

Bess Bistro on Pecan

Cru Wine Bar Downtown

Driskill Grill (Of course!)

Eddie V’s Edgewater Grille

Green Pastures

Hudson’s on the Bend

III Forks

Perla’s Seafood and Oyster Bar

See you there!
